The Likely Ladies
Hazel Anderson
Co-Director or Likely Story. Performer/Deviser
Hazel trained at Mountview and East 15 Acting School. Hazel has toured a successful 4* sketch show , toured in various theatre productions, lent her voice to documentries, podcast stories and adverts. She has also been involved in sight specific work, notably ‘La Maira’ as part of the Norwich arts festival. You can catch her in an online Viral for ‘Time to Change’.
She is surrently touring worldwide with a solo street show.
Her roles with Likely Story include the queen of the underworld, Persephone in Adrift, Rhonda in Salome, 15 year old Marigold in Pea and the Mechanic in Once Upon A Time and most recently Pru in Seatown Ladies.
We studied together at East 15 Acting School and co-founded Likely story in 2006. We co-directed Likely Story for many years with the talented Anne Langford. She has now moved on to bigger and brighter things. She is still supporting us and along with Anne we work collaboratively with a talented group of associated actors, makers, designers and directors.
We strive to make the best theatre we can for (and) with communities who might not otherwise see professional work.
We believe simple story telling can be magical and stories can come alive through imaginative use of ourselves and everyday objects.

In our productions a watering-can poured in to a suitcase of tinfoil becomes a rainstorm; three bodies connect to create a raging bull; feathers held up high become a flock of birds, benches become boats and plastic sheets become waves, loved ones and lost souls.
In all our work, we aim to embrace what sets theatre apart from other media: the live relationship with the audience and the immediacy of the creative act. Our work combines music, multimedia and new writing to create exciting performances. Drawing on the companies diverse skills our work is physical, humorous and thought provoking.

Ellen Groves
Co-Director or Likely Story. Performer/Deviser
Cardiff born and bred, Ellen studied Modern Drama at Brunel University before completing an M.A. at East 15 Acting School. Since graduating Ellen has worked for toured several productions with Stopwatch Theatre Company, appeared in a viral film for Time To Change made by 3 Angry Men, featured in.'Stella' on Sky One and regularly works with Hijinx.
Ellen is delighted to be Theatr Iolo's artist in residence at Chapter Arts Centre, in Cardiff, where she is developing comedy work for young audiences and working with Chapter to build relationships with younger audiences. She is an experienced drama facilitator for children and disabled adults.
For Likely Story she has played Myrrha in Adrift, Cookie in Salome, Pea in Pea, Amy in The Locked Door, various roles including Gerald the Pig and Baby Bear in Once Upon a Time and Tinsel Tales and Jess in Seatown Ladies.
